2004 S40 has a couple cosmetic issues. HELP!
Hi there, this is my first post. My 1986 240DL just kicked the bucket in July, so I replaced her with a 2004 S40. It all of a sudden has a few cosmetic issues. I would love suggestions on how to fix if anyone has them.

For the exterior problem, the paint is chipping/peeling on the trim running along the top. I had this problem with my 240, I thought 18 years later, this problem wouldn't exist anymore, silly me (at least they have decent cup holders now!). Any suggestions for what kind of paint can fix this? I don't want to get rust.

My other problem is that the fabric on the interior roof of the car is sagging in the front and the back. Basically where the roof meets the windshield and the rear window. It's only getting worse too. Is there some kind of glue/adhesive that's made for this? I was thinking spray adhesive. Suggestions?
Has anyone else had these issues? Thanks for your time!

I'm having the exact same problem with my 2004 S40, with the roof material sagging and the foam disintegrating near the front and rear windshields.
Can you please advise on what you did to rectify the problem? this sounds like a poor/ defective roofing job. Did you try to get your dealer to fix the problem on these grounds?
Thanks.

I had the same problem with my S40 2002. I bought a uphostelry glue made by 3M, and that didn't work... the only thing it did was to make the car smell like glue...
Little tacks could be an option; I went ahead and had the whole headliner replaced for $200.
