Default 2004 s40 icm display screen won't work

Hi,
I bought a used 2004 Volvo s40 about 3 months ago and have had this question ever since. I can use all the electronics in the car: a/c, radio (sometimes), etc. but i can't see what i'm doing because the little lcd screen won't work. It's completely blank, yet if you turn the volume up or change stations you can see random lines across the screen. Please help me out i really want a screen that works.

I'm thinking you are due a junkyard visit or maybe ebay. Not sure if any software fixes are needed to make it work. Let us know what you find out?

Hey,
I just received a ICM display that I bought from ebay 2 days ago. I installed it and this time nothing shows up on the screen, no lines, that probably means the screen actually works and I need to somehow sync it to my car with software. Im not sure. Hope this helps get closer to an answer.

Hey!
I currently have this same problem. Radio works, but lines one the screen. I went to the dealership and they wanted to charge me nearly $1000 so I am determined to fix this myself. Did you ever resolve this problem?
