Can anyone tell me the best/cheapest way to integrate an ipod with the 2005 s40. I see threads about fm modulation and gateway dension but they are from years ago. Is there anything now that is cheap and easy?

 

The Gateway is the best solution if you have the Premium Sound. An FM transmitter is the cheapest solution. A modulator is middle of the road.

 

Thank you very much. I do have Premium Sound but $500+ is a little pricy for me for the Dension Gateway. Will the FM Modulator even work? I called Best Buy and they said they could put a device in called the IS77 (Isimple) which is an FM modulator. When I researched this it said it cannot be done because my car as an amplified antenna. Does any of this sound legit?

If I hook up the IS77 (FM modulator) will it work or be fuzzy just like a transmittor?

Thanks for any help people. I am getting so frustrated with this. I just want to listen to music in peace without static!

 

Others have added modulators to their 2004.5+ S40/V50. One tricky part is that the system does not have a standard antenna connector. However, it is the same as a 9V battery. You can get a 9V battery connector at Radio Shack.

I haven't heard a modulator but it should be better than the transmitter since you have direct RF signal.
