Default 2005 S40 Oil Pressure problems

We have a 2005 S40 that we have busted the oil pan on it three times this year. We have put a new oil pan on it and now we don't have oil pressure. What could have happened that would cause no oil pressure? We have zero pressure at idle and about 10 pounds at 2000 rpms. Also has anyone else experienced the oil pan problem. Is there a way to lift the engine up and give the oil pan more clearance?

Volvo's sit nose down and are rather low to ground at the front.
Caution is always required on rough roads, kerbing, judder bars etc.
Do you not have a sumpguard / skidpanel fitted under the engine? It is standard on the cars to protect them from exactly the problem you are having but not uncommon for them to be removed for easier servicing. i.e. oil filters, drain plug access etc.
No offence intended but 3 times in one year would indicate that you perhaps need to be a little more careful and selective of where you drive the car.

Did you damage the pickup tube?

We bought the car January 2013 and a month later busted oil pan on curb, then hit something on the road in the rain in June and then not sure how it happened this last time. We do not have any kind of panel under the car and no one has mentioned one being available to put on there. We have asked the mechanics lots of questions. We are going to look at the pick up tube and see how it looks. The car is a beautiful car and runs great, but this oil pan problem is killing me and yes we need to be more careful.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Oil pick up tube is likely not sealed properly.

Here is an optional lower carriage guard.

Even with the panel, I have seen multiple P1s with busted oil pans.

My family has a 2005 S40 and in 2013 had a engine light and a noisy engine. The code
was no /low oil pressure. Mechanic tried engine flush, then dropped the oil pan. Full of gunk and the culprit..a blocked pickup tube. Cleaned everything, replaced gaskets and
$1350C later, car is running. You need that engine guard.

How would an engine guard have prevented the 'gunk' in your oil pan?
