My 2005 s40 rear door does not lock with or without the key fob. Any advice? Thanks!!

You likely have a bad latch. Does it lock and unlock with the button on the door, can you push it down and pull it up (if it has a manual lock)?

 

Thanks for the response. You were correct. Had to take it to the dealer to replace the latch. $500 + tax. We are moving from our old 240 into this S40. Now it's on to the timing belt! Thanks again for your input.
