Default 2006 Headlight Bulb Replacement

My Daughter just called, her low beam is out. Can anyone tell me, before she gets here, what number it is? And is it an easy to do job? Anything in the way? It's the passenger side. Thanks, Tom

it's a H7 super easy, be careful not to lose the clips that hold the bulb in, if they come off it's a pain in the neck. Change both, not just the one.

Thanks. From what I read online researching it. It's an H11 bulb. If it's an H7, I'm ****ed. Doing it tomorrow morning, then on to state inspection. Tom

Well it turned out ok. She got here this morning, pulled into the driveway, the light came on. She said the warning light on the dash would come on and off. Said leave it alone. Took it to the dealer for the state inspection and told them about it. They repaired the connection, and put in a new bulb. All for free, warranty. Inspected it for free also. I suspect the connection was loose, they added dielectric grease and a new bulb. Thanks again, Tom

Default 2004.5 S40 Low Beam

Has anyone ever replaced the passenger side H11 low beam on a 2004.5 or 2005 S40? I bought the bulb and I can see where the cover is, but the power steering fill cup is in the way. Do I need to remove that? Is there a trick to pull the head light assembly out? Any assistance will be appreciated.
thanks,

Volvo was very clever with these. The entire headlight capsule removes. If you look under the hood at the top of the light you should see a metal that you pull up and remove. Then the headlight capsule slide completely out.

It is in your owner's manual if you have one. If not:

Thanks Stan - The instructions were great. I just replaced both of the low beams.
