2006 S40 Rear Wheel Hub Replacement
Hi Folks, first time posting and I need a little advice; I'm not clear after reading previous posts.
We are trying to replace the rear wheel hubs (bearings) on my fiance's S40. The bearings come assembled for the S40 and from what I gather the steps are 1)remove the tire, 2)remove the caliper, 3)remove the rotor and 4)finally the hub. Well tonight I got to that last stage until I realized the 4 nuts holding the hub in place are behind the assembly, getting to it looks near impossible. I tried this with a jack stand and I could barely feel my way around the nuts, so I quit for the night. Any suggestions, do I need to take the sway bar or control arm off to get to it? I think I would have had better luck if the car was lifted. Any advice would be handy. The dealer wants 350 in labor and I'd rather keep that to myself.
