2006 S40 T5
I was wondering if someone could fill me in on their thoughts about Volvo. How is maintenance? Do they really build a quality product? I have had such huge issues with Volvo over the past 6 months. I bought my first Volvo in April (2005 S40), it had a lot of issues. A/C quite working or blew hot on one side, 4 check engine lights, radio problems...the last straw was on my honeymoon when the damn thing would not start when I was halfway across the country. Volvo stepped in and were very nice (at least my dealership was) and offered us a trade assist so we did not have to pursue the lemon law (which we more than qualified for). This was good for both Volvo and us...another sale for them and less paperwork for all of us. I love both of the cars, I am just scared of them. I grew up in Lexus' and Hondas, so I am not use to vehicles with issues like this. Will I deal with this forever, even in my 2006? Word on the streets is that Volvos are great cars, they are just typical of European makes in that they require more maintenance. I just learned yesterday that I lost my maintenance program when I went from an 05 to an 06. I do not understand a company that offers a program for one year. I feel like I have been penalized enough and that Volvo should honor that program in my 06 since their product is the only reason I no longer have an 05. Volvo of North America disagrees and I am currently asking this of my dealership. What are anyone's thoughts on my concerns. I am just looking for a company my wife and I can grow with.
Thanks
