Hi - I'm looking to know how to replace my driver side mirror on my 2006 volvo s40 t5 awd. I purchased the part from the dealership. So I need help removing the old assembly that is bolted to the door and also removing the door panel to wire up the mirror assembly. I also need advice on how to remove the old mirror from my old mirror assembly to place on the new one. Thanks to anyone that can assist.

 

To remove the door panel start by removing the push in to release tabs in the bottom of the door panel. Push the center in then slide the clip out.
Next remove the outer handle where you grab to close the door.
There is 2 screws under there you will need to remove.
Next remove the cover that hides the screws to remove the mirror assembly.

Then unplug and remove the mirror.
Install the new mirror.

To do the glass you will have to be very careful. Start on one side and put a little screwdriver between the glass and the mirror assembly. Then pop the glass out.

 

Thanks but that isn't the way you do it. I figured it out. You are supposed to remove the panel on the driver side where the automatic windows and locks are and then remove the the 3 screws

I know the 2005 is like I posted.
