Hi I have a 2007 s40 2.4 and it has a bad shaking when accelerating (moderate to heavy acceleration) and for the life of me I can't figure out what it is.... I checked the engine mount on top on the passenger side as well as the CV shafts.... More advise would be awesome thanks a bunch....

 

I would also check the bottom motor mount and aluminum bracket that connects it to the engine. When I bought my 2005 I found a crack in the bracket and the rubber in the mount was worn away.

 

 

Had the same symptom. I replaced both passenger and driver side cv's, no more shudder. I did both because I didn't think doing just one was very cost effective.

 

A worn lower control arm bushing might also cause a symptom like this.

 

It was the driver's side CV axil, the passenger side one had already been replaced and the mounts looked ok, the car feels like I am driving on glass, it is awesome thanks everyone!
