Default s40 vibration

2001 s40 vibration on acceleration. I fix it by replacing the passenger side haft-shaft. grease leaking at wheel. I hope this helps others. At 20 mph and up whole car would shake bad on hard acceleration. Had all new tires. I got mine from Napa for under 100.00

We had to replace the passenger side axle on ours. Apparently the PO replaced it once, and there are some replacements in the field that are about a half inch short, and eventually slip out, leaving you stuck. That might be the source of your noise. Take a look at the axle where it goes into the motor and see if its all the way in.

mt6127 there was no noise or clicking. thanks to all who reply to my thread. After reading all the threads, I went and replaced the RT. half shaft.
No more vib. on acceleration. the outer c/v boot was leaking grease>>>so I took a chance.
