Default 2009 S40 - High Performance Sound AM radio, no sound!

Another problem on my newly purchased used S40. Now I just found out nothing comes out of my AM radio. Everything is fine (all FM, CD) but AM has no sound whatsoever! What can be the problem now????

by the sound of it, you need a new iam or intergraded audio module or in common turns the cd player. the problems lie in the iam or the antenna. by personal experience of working in dealerships i can tell you that ive always fixed it with a new cd player and software

Mine is the High Performance Sound with a 6-CD in dash changer. Everything is good except for AM radio. This is the first time in my life to ever heard of an AM band going out on a radio.

So we're talking what, another $400-$500?

I have the exact same issue on my 2009 C70. The dealer quoted $995 today to fix it. I don't think I need AM that bad.

^^Yup, NOT worth it! Luckily for me, there are a couple of FM news stations now. For years I've been relying on KFWB news980 (Los Angeles area) and its poor AM reception.

Well, it's been a year since I bought my S40 and not having the AM radio. I admit though that I do kind of miss AM news which I am accustomed to listening on my other cars. Besides the dealer raping, are there any other solutions? Anyone here got a DIY/fix?
