Default 2009 Volvo s40 2.5i

So, I've been driving my s40 for over a month now. I've put quite a few miles on it and I know the timing belt is due soon. I'm getting near 116k and I've been told I should have it done around 120k. Is there anyway for me to be know the condition of the belt? I'd like to replace the front struts first which may cost close to what the timing belt will cost me. My passenger side strut is blown. Should I let that go for a while and just have the timing belt done?

Timing belt is due at 120k. It is way more important than the struts.

That's what I thought. I'm trying to get a good price quote. I've been told it should be in the neighborhood of $800. Does that sound right?

Volvo parts run about $340 for the timing belt kit and both drive belts. Labor is 3 hours so depending on labor rate, around $800 is a good estimate.
