Just bought my first volvo 2001 s40 turbo,have the problem with fan surging to high speed have installed new resistor and seemed to help a little bit but still doing it.Aslo on strartup stalls or wont start without extra gas no gas in line of fuel pressure regulator. HELP PLEASE.

 

Welcome to the forum. If you are having fuel issues, you should check your fuel pressure relay first, then the fuel pressure regulator. If both of them are good, then it is probably the pump if the fuel pump fuse is good.

Also, check for vacuum leaks. You would be amazed at what those will do to you.
