Default Power Steering Fluid question?

I have a 2002 S40 1.9T(150,000 miles), the manual says no power steering fluid change neccessary. Looking at the dip stick there are some small black particles that stick to it. No problems with the steering currently. Do I need to change the fluid (never been changed)? and if so what are some of the cheaper fluids I can use?

Thank you for the help!

You should not have particles in your fluid. I recommend flushing it with new fluid.

The manual just says:

Fluid type: ATF oil

Try calling Volvo Service.
