Default 36,600 Service Q's

Hello, I have a 2004/05 volvo S40. I just dropped the car off for service at 36,500 miles for an oil change (not changed since 22,000) miles. They called back with the following recommendations. This is a Volvo Dealer in michigan

1. Brake Fluid Flush 115.95$
2. Cooling flush 148.95$
3. Winter allignment 170$
4. Oil change 60$ ( i told them to go ahead with this)

Can someone with some car experience tell me if this is worth it? I can't help but feel they are trying to "flush" me out of $$$$

Thanks

Those are mad money. 14500 miles of running without synthetic is no no. Even with synthetic, 14500 miles of running after the oil changeis no no.
Just do the oil change regularly(it's a must) You can bleed brake fluid at 100000 miles and you can change coolant at 100000 miles. Unless your car doesn't steer automatically to one side, alignment is not that necessary.

Do they give you synthetic or synthetic blend for 60 dollars?

Good question, " Do they give you synthetic or synthetic blend for 60 dollars?" and do they change the oil filter for that price - how can one easily tell if the filter were changed?

I think they give you regular engine oil because if they were to give you synthetic, they will probably charge you 100 dollars.
(someone I knew told me that the dealer charges about 125 for synthetic oil change)
You just have to trust the dealer for oil filter replacement.

I'm not sure about other volvos but with my 960 I have to take out the cover to locate the oil filter.

You can check the oil filter before and after the oil change but if you were to do that, you would probably do the oil change yourself.
