I just called to ask about how much the 60,000 mile maintenance will be and they said around 750 bucks. What a rip off? What should this service really cost by maybe a local mechanic? Do you recommend local mechanics working on your S40?

By the way I dont have the manual in front of me to really see what is recommended, but on Edmunds it says to replace Air Filter, Brake Fluid, Oil and filter change (obvious) and spark plugs. Is there anything else that you guys would recommend? They also have an estimate of what it should cost at $231 for parts and labor.

 

Depending on the dealer they will do. Oil change,Air filter,fuel filter,spark plugs,coolant flush,brake fluid flush, and check the entire car from top to bottom.

The service usually is 3 hours labor.
