1. oil filter wrench is necessary?

86mm works for 02' S40?

I think you need an oil filter wrench so as not to damage the filter housing. I used the one ipdusa offers on my 2000 S40: http://www.ipdusa.com/version.asp?st...ID=0&V_ID=6223
