Default Abs sensor or module?

My brother is in process of buying S40, 2003 with 105k. Good car, t-belt was just replaced. Abs light is on and I was wondering how bad are the modules on these cars, are they just as bad as our late 90's 70 series? Or it could be abs sensor? Tech, how to determine if it's the module, any hints?

I would have the codes cleared and see what happens. The S40's usually don't have any ABS trouble at all.
