Adjust idle speed on engine 2005 2.4i
I have a 2005 Volvo 2.4i that has around 50,000 miles on it.
Whenever I start it up, the RPM is slighty over 2,000RPM, and it is fairly loud. Once I put the car in reverse, the noise goes away. Some friend of mine who knows cars says it sounds like its the idle, but I don't know how to adjust it.

Hey There,
If it revs to 2000 RPMs and slowly lowers back down to normal idle after a couple minutes, then this is normal. It is part of the cold start startup.
As for adjusting the idle, it can't be done anyway. It is all controlled by the ECU.
