Air compressor only on 5 secs- Blend door high voltage?
Recently bought a S40 with the aircon not working. On the dash, the button for the aircon is orange and 'off'. Pressing it does nothing. When the car first starts the light is green but then switches to orange. Just got back from the mechanic. Aircon is recharged but the compressor will only come on for a few seconds. Mechanic checked and the compressor is good. Mechanic said the computer was throwing a "Blend door circuit high voltage". Apparently this has something to do with the hot/cold ****? Told me it was either the blend door motor or the cabling from the motor. Anybody know anything about this error?
(Don't know if its significant, but on the climate control panel, the half with the control for the temperature is not lit up. Could this possibly be the cause of the issue that somehow half the climate control unit is dead and not giving the compressor the proper signal?)
Thanks!
