Air filter? any one
Hi.. i recent get a s40 2.4i 2007 w/ 13200 orig miles... its perfect but i notice than is consuming a lot of gas.. im coming from a mazda 6 2005 4 cil... and the gas in that car stay for like a week driving normal to and from my office.. but this car reach half of tank in two to tree days.. its a small gas tank.. or i have to check something that maybe is going wrong??? any idea?.. i was thinking, becouse i dont have a real record of this car.. start w/ air filter change.. oil/filter change.. i already check tires... but its too new that im really lost at this point.

Welcome to the forum. You are going to have to do a mileage comparison. Fill the tank and reset the trip odometer. When gas empty, refill and divide total mileage by the number of gallons required to fill. This will tell you miles per gallon. Then we can tell you whether it is off or not. Judging by days of week is no good. As for the gauge, that is just a reference, and many Volvo's show empty when about 1/3 still full. Get some numbers and get back to us. But your idea of tires and air filter are good ones. Also gas quality is important, brand and octane rating.
+1 to what 65mustang had to say. The S40 gas gauge has proven itself to be inaccurate in many members cars. You probably had quite a bit of gas left when you last refilled the tank.
