Default Air Intake Question (2007 S40 2.4I)

Viva Performance has an upgrade that brings in air from the stock intake vs an air filter just hanging out in the engine bay. I like this idea better than sucking in warm air from behind the radiator and ambient warm air from the engine. (think stuck in traffic on a hot summer day). The unit is called CCI Intake System. And yes, to me there is the "looks pretty cool" factor. Not looking for any gain per se but it does seem to give a bit of room under the hood. Usable or not who knows? (the extra space I mean) I understand getting the filter box out can be a stinker of sorts (tips appreciated) and for this unit the MAF is moved(?) Has anyone had experience with this unit or should I look for other options? Slight price drop and only one left. And cheaper than a replacement key......sarcasm, sorry, still feeling that sting. Opinions/experience anyone? Just trying to get a little more oomph, if thats possible, from a non turbo. Then off to do a 2nd CC delete if thats possible. Thanks again

don't expect any changes in anything other than sound level with the cold air intake. Your intake is pretty much the same as the turbo which does draw more air. I suppose you can experiment with a KN air filter for less effort (did that on my 850 turbo, and wound up going back to stock )

Good point. Looks like air box removal can be a stinker also. Thanx
