Default Any clue to what this part is?

Hello recently by breaks on my 2001 volvo s40 started being really stiff when I started my car every morning. You really had to stand up on the breaks to get them to work, then they would start working normally after a couple of minutes. I looked around and found this broken part in the picture below. It was located back by the firewall by my master cylinder. Any guess to what it is called so I can buy a new one?

You need the hose that goes from intake to vacuum pump to booster.PT# 30616993 or 30620958 depending on chasis #.

Thank you very much. Wow looked it up and the hose is $98. I wish they just sold the part that broke that was in my picture.

Hey Folks - I've been researching this part, and it appears that many of us have had the same problem, and it appears in numerous ways. The part that fixed my problem was 30620958. Going even further, it appears Volvo put out a similar service bulletin that was posted by a Quebec forum: (in general, he is saying it's a fairly difficult repair, just replace the part and you are good-goods)

- recall 137, S/V40 2004, first generation, brake vaccum valve/hose assembly inspect/replace, difficulté 4
part number: 30620958 brake vacuum/hose assembly
pourquoi: hose casse et plus de boost a freins, pédale très dure
solution: remplacer hose du booster et relocalisation de la hose
temps: 1h
Im wondering if there is a way we can group these very common parts. I asked the service department in my city, and they replace about a dozen of these per year, just at their dealership. My 2003 has failed twice, and Im thinking about repairing myself. I've found one online for 89 vs the 120 from the dealership.
Any moderators see even more threads that I haven't found on this website?
Andrew
