My daughter will be moving down to Sarasota next week with the trusty 2003 V40. I've been giving this thing serious TLC for the past couple of years in preparation for the hand-over.

I'm writing for two reasons:
1) Does anyone know any reputable Volvo mechanics in the area in case she gets into car trouble and
2) Would anyone in the vicinity consider lending me some tools if/when I needed to do some minor work while I'm down there. It's gotten to the point where I really don't like anyone else touching that vehicle so even having someone else do an oil change is going to pain me!

 

These cars are pretty simple and straight forward for most shops. I sure that there are people in town that specialize in Volvos. I've you have kept it serviced, open a new relationship by asking the shop that you choose there to give the car a look over or basic safety inspection. You will probably invest an hour's labor and make a new relationship.
