Axle stuck in hub
Hello folks.
I'm replacing the left axle on a 2001 S40. I've whacked it pretty hard using a drift with a hammer, but it's not budging. VADIS gives me the following: "Hint: if the drive shaft sticks in the hub, tap it with a copper or a rubber mallet."
I've done a lot more than tap it. Any suggestions?

Ok...so I've got the tool on the hub...I've been cranking on the bolt...axle hasn't moved. All I'm doing at this point is grinding metal off of the end of the screw and the end of the axle. Am I going to have to remove the hub with axle attached and take it to a machine shop?
Hopefully the tool is pretty beefy. Get it PRETTY tight then tap the center screw with a hammer and tighten it more and hit it again. Keep working it and it should come loose.
I have a really heavy duty tool and I can hit mine really hard.
