Blower motor is crazy

When I have the A/C or even the heater the blower will change its own speed and I don't use the auto when this happens, What is going on?

I had a similar problem on my 2001 S40. Try replacing or cleaning the interior air filter. I used a compressor to blow out mine. It is located under the glove compartment and takes about five minutes.
