brake noise
I had new rear brakes installed weeks ago, and now there's some strange metallic rattling sound every time I go over bumps, etc.. It's constant, but wasn't there prior to brake installation.
When I returned the car to the dealer and explained the problem, he stated that it was the "floating calipers" and that there wasn't anything he could do to fix the problem. However, when I contacted the service mgr @ the dealer where I bought the car, he said it could be defective brakes, loose springs or misalignment. 2 other mechanics I know made similar comments.
Has anyone ever encountered the same problem and what, if any, is the solution?

finally got the problem fixed. The district or regional manager came down and had the tech take off and disassemble brakes and apply some type of thick grease inside the brakes. Apparently, there was a "tech note" referencing such an issue. Remounted the brakes and I haven't had any more rattling or problems since.
I was angry because originally, the service manager told me there was nothing that could be done to fix the problem...but what's done is done.
