Brake vacuum booster not working`

I have a 2001 S-40 that my daughter drives and the brakes are not working correctly.. It takes ALOT of pressure to stop the car.. I am told it is the brake booster that is bad.. Anybody know how to fix this???

Before forking out a lot of cash, make sure all of the calipers are working first. A ceased caliper can present like a bad booster.
