Brake vacuum pump??

It does not sound like fun. Maybe post your experience when done? If you are the first then we all could learn.
EDIT: Read your other post about the brakes requiring alot of pedal effort. Have you determined for certain it's the vacuum pump? I didn't know the S40 even had a vacuum pump.
After I replaced my front brakes with carbon metallic pads and Brembo rotors I would have to really mash on the brakes when first starting out in the morning. Once the brakes warmed a bit then everything was fine. Pedal effort was still more than with the OEM pads and rotors. I finally changed to semi-metallic pads and now the brakes seem to stop like OEM but with much less dust.
