Default Buzzing sound from gearbox near valve body pan
Can someone tell me what the Buzzing sound is coming from my Automatic Gear Box near the Valve Body Pan? I hear it when key is on and engine not running. Its not very loud.

what year? you sure its not the vacuum pump up near the brake booster? If its buzzing with the key on and engine off, you should be able to feel around for vibrations.

Its a early 2004 s40, I'm sure it's coming from the trans. I traced it with my stethoscope, I hear it the loudest on the safety neutral switch but could be coming from valve body .

weird. did you try pulling fuses or relays that are involved with the transmission?

Didi you ever determine the couse of the sound from the trans valve body. I now have one with my 2004 S40.
