my 2001 s-40's a/c blower is pulsing (blowing harder/softer) at irregular intervals. It happens the most at lower fan settings but lately is creeping up the dial. It's happening now at #4 and down. Where should I start looking?

 

You might want to loo at the blower motor.

Also you might want to have the dealer look and see if there is a software upgrade for that complaint.

 

mine is doing the same thing.

 

I talked to Volvo here in OKC and they said blah.. blah.. blah... bring it in... blah.. blah.. blah... very expensive...blah ... climate control module....! I'm not ignorent about controls and cars so if I can get a little direction as which way to go looking I can probably render a fix on the old gal. I will get a voltage reading at the blower motor and then tell me which way to look for the climate control module (under the hood,dash,etc...), and what to look for such as pressure or temp sensors that tell the control whats happening. As I said before any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks RV.

This is happening on my brand new S40 2.4i. Volvo have replced the climate control unit, upgraded software and yet it still happens. Volvo's comment was "live with it".

There was a post on here about that, dude said he found the resistor under the passenger floor and bought a new one at like radio shack.
