Default Cabin air filter

Does anyone know where the cabin air filter is located on a 2007 S-40?

It really is a PITA.
If you can find a good indie tech that you trust, you can probably get the job done a bit cheaper then a visit to the dealer.

Is there a procedure out there for changing 2008 S40 rear shocks?

1) Open driver side door
2) Position yourself behind the wheel
3) Turn ignition key momentarily to start position
4) Let key return to run position
5) Check that there is nothing behind your car
6) Place gear shifter in reverse
7) Back out of driveway
8) Place in drive
9) Proceed to your favorite car shop
10) Pull out wallet and pay the man

Seriously, isn't it odd to post this question in a thread about cabin air filters?

How many miles are on your 2008? If the shocks are bad then they are likely still under warranty unless you have exceeded the mileage. If not then star a new thread so that others can find it easily in the future and well explain how to change them.

Hello everyone,

It is POSSIBLE to change it thanks to all your postings.

To make it even easier, use a RUBBER BAND to change the shape of the new filter. By placing the rubber band around the filter in the center area, you will change the dimensions of the filter and make it much easier getting in back into the slot.

Here's the scoop:
1- Put the rubber band around the filter and slide it towards the center of the filter so that it looks like an "hour glass."

2- Then partially slide the filter into its compartment, and once you get it lined up, cut the rubber band and pull it out.

3- Finish pushing the filter all the way in and screw the cover back in place.

BTW, I did remove and unplug the accelerator pedal to do all of this. It was quite easy.

Good luck!

-carlos.
