Unhappy Cam/Crank Seal/Timing Belt

PLEASE HELP!!!!! I took my 2006 Volvo s40 to Pepboys for a small leak that I had. I was told by others that it was the cam/crank seal. After looking at my car, pepboys had told me that it was the cam gear. I was also recommended to get the timing belt done and the water pump, since it was the same amount of labor. My car has been at pepboys for the past 6 days. I was told the other day that they were working on the timing belt, but they were having trouble because it was reverting back. Yesterday, I was told that they had the wrong can seal & were waiting on the part. I asked if everything was done besides this and was told NO, that the cam seal had to get done before timing belt since it was behind it. Without even realizing that they had told me a day before that they were working on the timing belt, I hung up the phone. I called back really upset and spoke to a manager. He assured me that they knew what they were doing & it would be done later that day. When I went to pick up my car, I was told they took it for a test drive and it cut off. They didn't know what was wrong. Today, they told me that it was the cerpitine (not sure how to spell) belt that broke off, hit & got stuck in the timing belt and reverted the timing back and ruined the head and valves. I was so upset. Now they are getting a rental for me and they are telling me that they need to keep the car until Monday. I am not paying extra for the head and valves, since this is something they did. I was told that they may have put it back on wrong or that it may have needed to get changed and they didn't do it. I am really concerned about the engine. Is the engine bad now because of what they did? I'm not sure what I should do. I don't want to get my car and it break on me a few days later or get my car and they have put other cheap parts on it, trying to save on there screw up. Any suggestions???? =(

I hope they know what they are doing. These motors are very complicated.

If they put it all back together correctly it should be fine for a long time.

My miles are 77,000, but mostly highway miles.

I'm hoping all goes well. I just don't want any problems after-the-fact. If it's bad, I'd rather know right away; instead of having to deal with a huge thing in the long run.

Like I said above as long as it was done correctly you will be fine.

I did a head job not that long ago on one of those motors. Not all that much different from the older motors. But I have been working on these for a long time.
