Changed the oil on my '00 S40 today, and went to reset the service light like I have 3 other times and it won't reset. After holding the odomoter button, the light will blink 8 times. Is there something else the service light indicates?

 

No nothing else. Sometimes Locking and unlocking the car then trying again does the trick.

 

Tried locking and unlocking. I'm not doing anything different than the other times I reset it. Any ideas on why it won't reset now?

 

No really I know sometimes they can be Very stubborn.

I have seen people do it for 30 minutes straight till it cleared.
