Hello,

I have a 2003 S40. We can't get trunk open with the key (no internal interior release which seems like a huge oversight to me?). Tried both keys with slot in horizontal postion and all done according to owner's manual. Dealer thinks latch is broken - mentioned a $40 kit to fit.

Anyone had with problem?

If you fold the seats down and pull the inside panel out you should be able to see how it works and get it open.

I think they came up with a fix kit. I know when I was at the Dealer the only way to fix was to replace the handle.
