My car is making this continuous tapping or ticking noise when I try to start it. It has done this before, but started back up. I notice that sometimes it seems like there is little power when driving. I have replaced the battery under warranty because I thought it was the battery. When I took the battery back in, it was tested and it was bad, but my car is doing the same thing. Maybe if I wait till tomorrow, it will start. Until then, I would like any feedback.

 

Bad or weak battery, that's all. Do you have jumper cables? Try jumping the car to see if it starts.

 

Thanks Hudini, for the advice. It was the battery, but I replaced it before with a new one. There may be a short somewhere. I will take it to have it looked at.

 

Mine eats a lot of batteries too. Don't know why. Maybe it's the high underhood temps.
