changing the battery
Hi everyone. Newbie here.
I am trying to change the batter in my wife's 2000 S40. Is there a hidden latch or something that holds the battery in place? I can't pull the thing out of the tray. The owner's manual is of no help and I've done a search and have not found the answer.
Any advice?

Hi emillard,
There is a black "latch" (plastic grip) that you have to find. Pull the battery AWAY from the latch & this should release the battery. I had the same problem and ended up jumping the car off long enough to get it to AutoZone (they change batteries free of charge). If you haven't already purchased a replacement battery, my advice is to take it to an autoparts store & let them show you. You'll laugh after you see how simple it is. (It happens to a lot of us
