Default changing brakes again after 11,000 kms

just changed my brakes last april,,changed drums rotors and brake shoes on 2002 s40
costed 1200 dollars,,and already i hear grinding noise,,it has only been 11,000 kms since i changed brakes,,,is this common on volvo s40,,,car has 115,000 kms,,,bought car at 57,000 kms and brakes were good til 104,000...

thoughts anyone

Yes, the brakes wear fast on these cars.
IDK about that fast though!

Default took it to the shop

took it to the shop where got the brakes done last year,,says theres 80 percent left on pads...the grinding noise was the buildup on the disk..so they grinded it..so they told me once in a while to brake hard..

no charge
