Question Check Engine Light

My 06 S40 engine light keeps coming on I took it to advanced auto. They told me that it was the Mas airflow sensor, I changed it out and it stopped coming on for a little while and came on again. I swapped it out for another one and the same thing happened. Any one have any ideas on what else could be causing the problem. The massage reads "engine system requires attention"

Did you erase the trouble code when you swapped it out?

I would look over the wiring harness for breaks or burns near the MAF connector. I would also check all the intake piping to make sure it's intact.

Did you have any work done on the car before the check engine light came on the first time? I ask because sometimes things are damaged when, say, changing the spark plugs. Wires get pinched or cut, etc.

Hey Hudini,
I pulled of the tubing and checked it, There was a little dust in the tubes running to the air filter. I changed the filter and it was ok for a half a day and then check engine light came on again. I looked at the wiring before and saw nothing out of the norm. This didn't start until I got it back from the body shop, it had hail damage and they repainted it as well. I may have to take it to a mechanic friend of mine. I refuse to take it to the dealer, they are a rip off.

You might have an intake leak. Check the pcv house from the box to the top of the cam cover. A lot of times that breaks

I would look it over carefully. I'm guessing something is out of place. A ground or something taken loose and not replaced correctly.
