Clicking sound when turned off.

I have a 2008 volvo s40 and everytime when i turn it off it makes this clicking sound just once under the hood somewhere. any ideas what it might be?

Does it happen when you remove the key from the ignition? My 2005 does this as the steering lock engages.

Ito clear this up, it's not the gas cooking off? Sounds stupid but I've heard people complain about it before.

It happens like 5 seconds after i turn off my car.

Is it erratic and sounds like someone is hitting a metal pipe with a little wrench or something?

Well honestly its just one little click and thats about it and its just sometimes its not after every time i turn off the car.
