Computer reset
Ok, I have a 1997 2.0 Petrol Non-turbo S40. The other night I left the interior light on by mistake and drained the battery. I did my back in trying to push it out of my drive as it's a slight incline so I couldn't bump start it. I then jump started it. That went fine but since then below 1500 rpm the Engine Electrical light comes on and if I let the revs drop off too sharply the engine cuts out. I called my local dealer and they told me that it's nothing but my computer will need resetting. Now I don't have the money at the moment to get the computer reset at the dealer but I've hear that it is possible to reser the computer manually but doing things in sequence with lights and indicators.
Is this true and if so, what do I have to do?

RE: Computer reset
Hey Tech, I can relate to the problem above. 2003 volvo s40, abs and CEL are on. Our obd2 reader can not clear the CEL because there are no codes stored, it reads 0 but light is still on like it has pending codes. How is this possible? I am 100% sure that abs light is on because of the same problem. Battery is brand new. Something needs to be reset or some strange electrical problem occured? ANy ideas?

RE: Computer reset
hey tech, here I am again
We found a mechanic that had software to read the abs codes and he pulled :wheel sensor signal, right rear wheel, fault in the circuit, permanent malfunction. So we ordered new rear sensor and I was wondering after we install it would abs light go off by itself or it needs to be cleared by computer?
thanks!

RE: Computer reset
Ok, rear abs sensor was replaced and light went off immediately. That is taken care off. CEL is still on and obd reads 0 codes. I cant clear CEL if car is running, I need to shut it off and then clear it. We brought it to autozone just to make sure that our reader is fine and same thing occured. What do you think?
