Default Coolant reservoir filled with oil

My Volvo s40 t5 is not going into gear and I think the trans fluid is traveling to my coolant reservoir because everyday its filled with oil. My engine oil is fine and not low and now my car is not going into reverse and slipping in drive. I parked it. Tried filing from underneath but it won't fill and there's massive gunks of oil under transmission. Evidence of trans leak. But how is it going into radiater, could it be because I had heater hoses removed from cabin due to flooding into passenger side floor from under the seat. It stopped the flooding but could it have caused something worse? Help

What color is the oil that's floating on the top? Pinkish?

If it's coming from the transmission the transmission oil cooler in the radiator is leaking - and that's a very bad thing - if coolant leaks into the trans it will destroy it. The cooling system is under higher pressure than the oil in the transmission cooler so when it leaks it forces antifreeze/coolant into the trans - antifreeze/coolant does not lubricate very well.

The engine oil cooler can leak into the cooling system also - it's more of a grey color.

Either way it's a huge mess - the oil also destroys all the cooling system hoses, they are not meant to carry oil and they pickle/swell up and break.
