crank seal/turbo leak
I have an S40 that I bought new in late 2000. 143,000 miles later, I noticed some oil leaks in my drive way. Yesterday, when I parked the car on the slanted park of the driveway, the leak was much bigger.
I brought it to a mechanic today and they told me I need the crank and cam seals and the turbo replaced, respectively costing $2,000 and $2,950.
I'm not a mechanic and I don't know much about cars, but I love my S40. However, the price seems steep, and I don't know if it's worth doing this. Or maybe I just need to find a cheaper mechanic in Denver?
I'd love to get some opinions or ideas.

Since I am not a mechanic, I can just relay the information that the repair center gave me. They said the oil was coming of the back of the engine, near the top, and me parking it on a slanted driveway made it easier for the oil to come out.
The paperwork states: diagnose fluid leak. found front crank seal and turbo are leaking.

If you haven't serviced the crankcase ventilation system (PCV), it may be due now.
Excessive pressure may be your only problem. Was the crank seal replaced when the timing belt was changed? You don't need a cheaper mechanic, just a better one.
Since you are the only driver, you know how it's been treated.
A couple hundred is better than a couple thousand.
