I am intrested in buying a boat and I would have to tow it with my Volvo. I have a 2010 S40 2.4i (standard transmission). Does anyone know how much I would be able to tow w/o putting to much stress onto the car.

Did you get the factory tow package?

My V40 1.9T, with factory tow package (modified to change *****) has a limit of 2,000#. I'd have to guess that your limit will be the same. But check your owners manual or with the dealer.

Unless the boat is a dingy, canoe, jet ski, or similar small boat, I think you'll exceed the weight limit.

You need to know both the pull weight and tongue weight limits and amounts for the boat.

 

For Volvo tow to boat , I think You should go to expert advice or to the expert company .
