I recently bought my first car, a 2000 S40 1.9T. I love it the way it is, but wanting to compete with the other guys, I want to put custom rims on my car.
It still has the stock 15 x 6 wheels

I think I need 4 x 114.3 bolt pattern
I am going to buy 15 x 6.5 (or wider) wheels (would this work alright even if the stock is 6 inches wide?)
Also, how big of wheels could I put on without modification in any way? Could I go up to a 16 inch without problems?

What I need to know is the offset. Is there anything I should be looking for in terms of the correct offset? Does anyone have information that I should know about replacing the wheels?
I also want to know if anyone has found/installed a good aftermarket exhaust system on this type of car

I think you can hit 17... if you gonna be into moding you s40 theres a site dedicated just for moded s40s... those guys spend alot of time and money on there cars and know the up and down of or volvos.... theres guys running over 300bhp..... go on there and use the search tool to find out some stuff

Thanks for the advice. I don't think I want to go crazy with the mods, just simple things like the rims and exhaust would be fine with me.

 

215/40/17 are what im hoping to get soon....
you can actually go 18s and prob 19s just some mods for the 19s
