One of the door locks on my 2000 S40 (passender side, back) does not come up far enough to unlock to door when I use the remote, or the button on the dash, so I have to manually unlock it. Is this an easy fix, or does a motor need be replaced?

 

It might be the motor or the linkage.
You would have to remove the door panel and inspect.

same thing happened to my 2001 s40 but i think its only when its cold outside. it happened for about a month when it was really cold. now that its warming up i dont have the problem anymore
