The glass is stuck down. The motor hums but the glass won't move. I can't find any writeup for removing the door panel (hidden screws, etc.). Does anyone know where I can find some info about pulling the driver door panel on a 2000 S40?

It is not all that bad. Look for covers that come off. Then you will find all the screws.

 

Thanks Tech, I am trying to get this patched from 500 miles away until it gets back home on Christmas.

 

The regulators commonly go bad. See if you can just pull the window up and wedge something in there to hold it for now.

There is a piece internally that breaks.It is designed to break in the event that someones arm gets stuck in there.

Have someone hold the switch in the up position and pull up on the window and try to work it up.
