I have a1998 s40 t4 with 230000 kms. recently i have had the dsa light and engine check triangle light come on spasmodically. this then causes engine to run rough especially on idle. then after a few minutes it clears and the engine runs ok. light stay on. sometimes only the dsa stays on. when i leave car and restart prob goes away.
has appeared under full load but appeared yesterday on slow idling in a car park. is this an issue with the throttle body or ecu or map sensor. would cleaning throttle body help

 

My car did the same thing and the DSA light and check engine light coming on at the same time with a rough running engine signals a bad coil pack or poorly connected coil pack, as well as the MAF sometimes. It sounds like the coil pack though since you say the car is misfiring.

 

Probably a faulty ABS sensor or wiring.It seems intermittent so will be hard to find it.Looks as the ABS tels the ECU that the wheel is spinning hence the DSA will get to work reducing injector cycle in 16 step.When it happens do not go full throttle.Do you have the same size of wheels/tires on all four wheel?
