DSA & Coils...
Greetings. Driving down the highway yesterday (clear w/ dry pavement...AC on) and the engine cut out (just briefly) and the little orange triangle with wheels lit up on the dash. That seems to have something to do with DSA?? The check engine light also came on. I connected my code reader and got a P0351 code (bad coil). Nothing came up about the DSA warning light. I reset the code, which turned off both the DSA warning and CEL. Drove for a while and the same thing happened. Both lights came on again. Still...just the code for the coil. I'm going to change the coils out...but, am wondering why the DSA warning light came on too? Anything to be concerned about?? Thanks! Love the forum!
It seems like the wiring to the ignition coil is loose rather than the coil being bad. I had the same problem and each time the coil would lose connection, the car would misfire and the DSA light came on. Check the wiring before replacing the coil. The connections are probably very brittle. I fixed mine temporarily with tape but it has held up the past 6 months.
The same thing happens if the MAF is disconnected - the DSA light will come on.
